Everyone can now register for events at Local Economy!
Hello, friend of Local Economy. Just a short note today.
We have our first slate of events up, covering most of what we'll be programming in October. You can check out the calendar and register or buy tickets there. So far, everything is $0-$10. (Members, FWIW, you should have received an email yesterday with special instructions for you. If not, let us know.)
We have a little bit of everything, but sessions are filling up terribly fast. Mending has been the hottest ticket! Who knew there was such demand? We'll try to get another mending session on the books as soon as possible.
We have fun new things in the works, too, including a zine workshop from Rena Tom, a North Oakland botany walk, Sue Pierre on Liberation Ecology, the BYOB show-and-tell session, a movement class that may even feature our 9-year-old, a Coyote Media event, Members Night Out at Gold Palm/Moonglow, and ... yes, calendar jenga is getting intense.
Also, just a little reminder... Events are just one piece of what we're trying to build at Local Economy. If you are not able to get a ticket to a particular event, you can still drop by the space, Wednesday-Saturday from 11-4, after we open up on October 1, grab a coffee from Painted Leopard, and check out what's going on.
As many of you know from our last email, we have paused membership ahead of our opening. We want to thank everyone who has signed up on the waitlist. There are a stunning number of you (about 200) and we're working through some different types of solutions because we want every last one of you to be able to join. We don't have answers for you yet, but we're trying!
Sarah & Alexis
P.S. If you're a member of the space, we know you're getting a lot of comms right now. It'll calm down.
