Community Newsletter: Events and more events
This is what happens Good Luck Bakery & Painted Leopard are popping up together.

Great news friends: Painted Leopard is back serving up espresso in the space all week! They had a rad weekend at SF Coffee Festival, and we look forward to getting our hands on their new merch.

While they were busy, we raised $1200 for the Alameda County Community Food Bank thanks to Ed's Bread and Innajam. Ed sold 33 loaves of bread (!) and we sold a ton of the black mission fig jams that Innajam donated. If you haven't heard, Innajam is closing, and we have some their very last jars for sale in the shop.

More great news! Remember that excellent pop up with Good Luck Bakery? They're back. Menu will be out soon, but trust us. You can catch them at the space on Saturday morning starting at 10am. (They will sell out, which is why that text is bolded.)

And now... we have some new events that you can register for.

Friday, December 5, 6pm: Dire Straights Live! Tracy Clark Flory and Amanda Montei are indispensable feminist thinkers in the Bay Area and beyond. They've recently teamed up on the Dire Straights podcast, and on this night, we'll celebrate with an evening of readings, interactive bits, and of course, Tracy and Amanda in conversation.

Saturday, December 6, 1pm: Repair Advice Clinic with Jenny Odell. We know you have been waiting for this one. LE members snatched up all the participant slots, but you can still register to come by and check out the repair advice clinic. Jenny is also gonna share a bit about her upcoming book on repair (broadly considered).

Sunday, December 7, 2pm: Graphic Novel Art Talk & Auction to Benefit Chapter 510. This one is gonna be fun. It's part charity art auction (process art from some true luminaries!) to benefit Chapter 510, part interactive event for kids, and part talk about the process of creating graphic novels. This one is really for graphic novel lovers of all ages.

Wednesday, December 10, 10am: Storytime for Caregivers with Tomas Moniz. In the latest edition of Patricia Zaballos's series, she talks with novelist (and LE member) Tomas Moniz about his book All Friends Are Necessary.

Saturday, December 13, 7pm: BYOB Show and Tell. Simple concept: bring an object that's significant to you and tell us its story (probably a true one).

This Week at Local Economy

It's a busy week! Painted Leopard is back with full-service espresso after their triumph at SF Coffee Festival. And we've got a full slate of events.

Wednesday, 10am: Storytime for Caregivers with Ruth Whippman. Join Patricia Zaballos and the author of Boy Mom for an early talk and coffee. Note the pre-normal hours start time!

Thursday: That Art Party takes over the space to teach people to weave.

Saturday, 10am: Good Luck Bakery pop up. Such amazing pastries, such fun people. The perfect start to your weekend morning.

Saturday, 1pm: Heyday's Colors of California. This fascinating and deep session will help you see the world around you in new ways. We're so stoked to see the interest in this one!

Saturday night: Reign Collective is bringing gun violence prevention activist Shannon Watts, of Moms Demand Action, to our space this Saturday night, the 15th. You can register directly with them here.

Sunday, 10:30am: Sunday Coffee! One of the first month's greatest events is back for a second edition. Low stakes, chill time eating some breakfast and drinking some coffee with members and friends. Hosted by Jeff Wright, formerly of Edith's Pie (RIP).
